Amer fort is located in Devisinghpura Amber, 11 kilometres from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Amer is a town with an area of 4 square kilometres. Amer or Amber Palace is built by Rajput Raja Man Singh the kachwaha Rajput king in 1592 AD and Raja Jai Singh I expanded and renovated it later. To get Amer or Amber,  you can take a private vehicle, uber, ola, or the city bus which runs every day. There are two Staircases one is around 450+ steps and the second one is around 500+ steps.

Amer fort has a traditional Hindu and Rajputana style of architecture. It is crafted out of marble and red sandstone which gives a mysterious look to Amer or Amber palace and Maotha lake adds a certain charm to the entire fort. There are four divisions of the palace or fort. All four sections have a gate to make an entry. The main entrance of the palace is through Suraj pol or Sun gate as it faces east, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II  built this gate. The Amer fort has Diwan-e-aam, Diwan-e-kaash, Ganesh pol, Jaleb or Jalebi Chowk, Singh pol, Jai Mandir , Sukh Mandir, Sheesh mahal, Suhag Mandir, Shila Devi holy place, Bhoul bhulaiyaa and Zanana.

Raja Man Singh the kachwaha Rajput king built Amer or Amber palace in 1592 Ad and Raja Jai Singh I and other successive Rajput rulers expanded and renovated over the next 150 years, until the kachwaha Rajput shifted their kingdom amber to Jaipur Rajasthan during the time of Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1727.

While many such old structures have been destroyed or replaced by other things, this fort has stood against all the tests of time and invasions.

Amer or Amber palace is situated 11 km away from Jaipur, Rajasthan. To get to Amer fort or palace, you can take a private vehicle, uber, ola, or the city bus which runs every day. Three ways to reach the hilltop.

1. Amer fort elephant ride to experience the royal way of entering the palace. Elephant ride price Rs.1100 per person or per couple.

There is also a light and sound show in the amber palace from 7:30 pm to 8:20 pm in Hindi and 8:30 pm to 9:20 pm in English.

Are pets allowed in Amer fort?

No pets are not allowed inside the fort.

How much time does it take to cover Amer fort?

It takes around 3 to 3.5 hours so that you might be able to see Amer post. Indeed you can travel both the posts around the same time however you will complete the day in the evening. You can see the dawn there in the Amer stronghold.
